The Mocha Autism Network currently has the following programming for families and communities:
Social Skills Programming
Currently, minoritized children (Children of Color, Girls) are diagnosed at least 2 ½ years later than other children. Once a diagnosis/evaluation happens, there are no places to support parents. We would like to provide a space where information and support can be given to our community. This will create a more knowledgeable community. the Mocha Autism Network Creates Social Skills programming for the following populations:
Young people:
we work with transitional aged youth (TAY) to lead each other in age-relevant conversations and activities that will strengthen community building and motor skills. Activities will include, but are not limited to:
Art projects
Video games
Social skills seminars
Teen engagement groups
Career information (TAY)
Resilience skills
Parents/Guardians
Parents and guardians will have an opportunity to learn techniques from each other in the realm of home and school. On different occasions, subject matter experts will participate with parents regarding different subjects including but not limited to:
Parenting an exceptional child
The assessment process
Transition services
Accommodations for all ages

Community Engagement Programming
We provide a space where parents work on strategies that will help them with working with schools and advocating for a more inclusive community.
